THOUGHTS ON HOW TO LOVE OUR ELDERLY
1: LET THEM SPEAK… Because their past is a treasure full of truth, beauty and goodness.
2: LET THEM WIN… In the arguments of daily living, because they need to feel confident of themselves.
3: LET THEM VISIT…Their old friends, because among them they feel alive and feel they re-live.
4: LET THEM TELL YOU…their stories, repeated times, because they feel a Joy when we listen.
5: LET THEM LIVE… Among things they have loved all their lives, they suffer thinking we take away chunks of their lives.
6: LET THEM SCREAM… for they have the right to be understood as we understand our children.
7: LET THEM TRAVEL… in the family car on vacations, because next year you will regret they’re not there anymore.
8: LET THEM GET OLD… With the same patient love you let your children grow, because all of this is part of life.
9: LET THEM PRAY… as they know, as they wish, because they find the presence of God in their path of life left to cover.
10: Please let them BE…. J
